In the DeFi ecosystem, many chains use an EVM-compatible runtime which enables users to use the same wallet across multiple chains. This allows users to seamlessly switch between projects on Ethereum, BSC, Avalanche, etc. all from the comfort of the same Metamask wallet.

In order for Serum and Solana to reach the next level of growth, it is necessary to tap into the developer community and create additional on-ramps for the ecosystem.

Serum’s vision is to further the growth of DeFi and bring $1 trillion of value on-chain with a billion users. To this end, Serum is partnering with Wormhole to launch its first-ever Ecosystem Project Prize of up to $500K USD investment, with additional $SRM grants, to a project that offers a seamless Serum trading experience for users without requiring them to set up a Solana wallet or own any SOL.

This prize is a call to action for the community to build a cross-chain exchange that leverages Serum’s central limit order book, Wormhole’s generic message passing and Portal bridge.

Here are the specifications for a project to be considered for the Ecosystem Project Prize:

  • A user without Phantom wallet / a user not needing to have any $SOL must be able to use it
  • Enable tokens to go cross-chain using Wormhole’s generic message passing and Portal bridge
  • Allow the user to trade tokens on Serum using an existing Metamask wallet

Here are the requirements for the user flow of the project:

  • Connect with Metamask or other ERC-20 wallet
  • Go on trading interface
  • Trade tokens with liquidity going through Serum’s orderbook

Serum invites all builders and developers in the community to participate in this project for a chance to receive up to $500K USD investment from Serum Ecosystem Fund with additional $SRM grants.
